Dallas Spikes Baseball Club

DALLAS SPIKES
Mission
The mission of the Dallas Spikes Baseball Club is to provide athletes an environment in which to develop the skills they will need to play at the college level. Our dedication is to educate our athletes in all areas of the sport, including athletic values, athleticism, nutrition, and leadership skills. We are committed to building a system and program with long-term goals, players and parents.
Coach
Head Coach will be Logan Harrington, the current pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Mountain View College. He graduated from Duncanville High School and played under Hall of Fame coach Bob Rombach. He was part of the 2002 Duncanville Panthers team that came in 3rd in the State (5A).
After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and went through 2 months of NAVY SEAL training before receiving injuries that lead to hip reconstructive surgery. He was honorably discharged after 4 ½ years of honorable service.
He continued his baseball career at Mountain View College where he served as team captain and was among the conference leaders in ERA. He has five years coaching experience and comes from a baseball coaching family with his brother being the Blinn College Assistant Baseball Coach.
Right View Pro
All Dallas Spikes players will have the advantage of the use of Right View Pro. This program takes a video clip of a Spikes Player and allows us to compare it to a major league player. This program is one of the best aids in perfecting swings and pitching mechanics.

Players and Roster Size
The Dallas Spikes Baseball Club will be at the elite level. Players will go through a try-out and only the best of the best will be chosen. The Dallas Spikes believe that having too many players will cause too many problems. Our roster will consist of only 13-14 players.
Playing Time
The Dallas Spikes policies are as follow: Scrimmage games are about developing the team as a whole and giving different players the opportunity to react in game situations. Tournament games will be when we play the nine players that can give the team the best chance to win, AT ALL TIMES! All parents need to prepare themselves for tournament play; some players might not play at all during a tournament. Playing time is earned and never guaranteed. Showing up for practices, having a great attitude, hustling, and being a hard worker will help get playing time, but it will never guarantee it.
For parents concerned about development without playing time, please note the amount of time spent practicing. Too many organizations have gone with more games and less practices. The Dallas Spikes Organization is going with more practices and less games. The result of this will be that our players will have maximum development.
Practice vs. Game Philosophy
The Dallas Spikes Baseball Club believes that more practice, not more games, makes a player improve his skills more. We will be averaging 3 practices a week. Our practices will be intense and long. We will be ready when it comes game time. The time commitment might be a greater commitment for some families than the financial commitment.
Pitchers Arms
The Dallas Spikes Baseball Club has many precautions to help prevent arm injuries. We have a strict throwing program that all pitchers will follow to ensure that adequate care is taken of their arms. We will never sacrifice a pitchers health to win a baseball game.
Cost
The Dallas Spikes Organization is up front and does not hide anything. The organization was not formed to make money; it was formed to transfer the knowledge of information to athletes willing to learn. For a quality select baseball program to run properly financial expenses do occur.
Parental Involvement
The Dallas Spikes Baseball Club will be run like a high school varsity baseball team, meaning that the parental involvement will be VERY limited. This is how every quality baseball team is run. This is a very important policy that needs to be followed.
Communication
Communication is the key to a successful relationship between the parents and the Dallas Spikes Organization. The Dallas Spikes again are up front and laying everything out so that every parent knows what to expect.
The Dallas Spikes Organization will always be open to talk about any legitimate concerns you have about your son. We are always willing to inform parents or players on how to improve themselves outside of practice. Concerns about playing time, how to run this organization, or any questions that would not be asked to a high school varsity baseball coach, will not be tolerated or answered.
Time Commitment The Dallas Spikes Baseball Club requires total parent participation. With the amount of baseball games and practices, it will be a long summer season. Ask yourself and your family whether you can handle the fatigue of the constant weekend travel, late weekday nights, and the extra demands asked of a Dallas Spikes parent.
